How Do I Improve My Camera’s Security to Prevent Hacking?

    Oct 29, 2020

Make your passwords as safe as possible (Wi-Fi & Account)

    Creating a strong password is the first line of defense. We recommend a password with a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. The password can contain up to 31 characters such as: 0~9, A~Z, a~z, ~, `, !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (, ), +, ?, _, -, /, {, }, ,, ., :, |, <, >, [, ], \.

Avoid using personal information like birthdays, first and last names, and sequenced numbers (12345) and letters (abcde). Consider misspelling words by substituting numbers and letters with symbols to make it more complicated for a hacker to guess. For example: !c3Cr3am.

Sometimes, your security camera just gets hacked by chance. For example, someone may try to access your Wi-Fi for free Internet and get access to your camera by accident. It’s crucial to choose a powerful password for your Wi-Fi as well.

    Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Whenever you attempt to sign in to the Nooie app, Two-Factor Authentication is an additional barrier to protect your account.
Please make sure that you’re using the most updated Nooie app (iOS 2.0.8/Android 2.0.9). And you can set up the Two-Factor Authentication under Account in your home page’s bottom navigation, located in the lower right corner of the screen. Tap on Account and choose Account, and then turn on the Two-Factor Authentication.

Limit devices to access your home network

Limit the number of devices that can be used to access your security system, making sure your personal laptop, smartphone and desktop are the only devices that can login to the system. You may use a virtual private network (VPN) to regulate which of your devices will be able to access the network to prevent possible hackers.

Do not share account details with others

Never share your Nooie account credentials with anyone you do not trust completely. If you do, they will be able to access and change your details, even your password, without your permission. Instead, ask your friends and family to create their own free Nooie account so you can share devices with them without compromising your login credentials.
